Design
Austin Air purifiers draw air in from all sides at once, then process it in four distinct filter stages that effectively remove contaminants. This results in maximum efficiency and air flow, and a significantly longer-than-average filter life: 5 years for normal residential use.
In order to effectively produce clean, healthy air, a purifier must eliminate noxious chemicals, gases, and sub-micron particles; and it must not produce dangerous by-products, like ozone. Austin Air uses medical-grade HEPA and activated carbon filters, the only filter technology trusted for use in operating rooms and hospitals. And unlike ionic generators and electrostatic precipitators, Austin Air cleaners produce no by-products.
Materials
Austin Air believes that the best products in the world are still manufactured by American workers, and that manufacturing in the U.S. can still provide a healthy profit.
The company's philosophy is to consider moral, social, and economic costs – and the cost of moving operations offshore – outweighs the benefit.
When manufacturing is outsourced overseas, the American economy takes a hit in lost money and lost jobs. Products are made with lower standards and poorer quality, and any savings to the company are rarely passed on to the consumer.
Austin Air says no to corporate greed and yes to supporting ordinary Americans. With the largest air purifier manufacturing facility in the world, they are able to make everything in-house. From filter to final assembly, all Austin Air cleaners are made in the U.S.A.
Austin Air purifiers have been extensively tested for:
The company selects prestigious evaluators:
Because of this rigorous testing, the U.S. Government chose Austin Air for the largest deployment of air cleaners in American history, and the Red Cross and FEMA selected Austin Air purifiers during their concerns about air quality in New York post-9/11.
Austin Air never hires private companies to guarantee good scores.
